Did you know we might be moving?

Here we go again! Right before we left on vacation to NC and SC, Victor was offered a severance package (since his company is trying to get rid of people). It's really an offer we can't resist - 48 weeks of pay AND health insurance (that's almost a year!). His last day would be April 15th so we have to decide if we get another job here or move east. While we were in SC, he met with his old boss and he may have something for him in 5 months or so. So, who knows, some day we may actually leave. But I won't hold my breath.

I forgive you!

Last night we went to the 3rd study of a 5 week study on "Peacemaking in the Family" at our church. Tonights session was on forgiveness. It was really good and I thought I'd share a few things that were said.
The 4 Promises of Forgiveness:
1. I will not think about, dwell on, obsess etc. about this incident. (Not even in the middle of the night when I can't sleep?!?)
2. I will not bring up this incident again and use it against you. (Thinking I didn't have a problem with this one, I asked Victor about it and he gave me the 'are you kidding? - all the time!' look)
3. I will not talk to others about this incident. (... but I'm just asking them to pray for my husbands faults...!)
4. I will not allow this incident to stand between us or hinder our personal relationship.
(Of course we're talking about everyday run of the mill conflicts here - not conflicts that shouldn't be overlooked like adultery etc.)
Anyways, it was good and we look forward to showing forgiveness to each other, and modeling forgiveness to our children.

Fudge!

For the past 5 years and 3 months, every Monday afternoon has been playgroup for Lucas and Marisa. I don't know who looks forward to it more them or me. Today at the park the kids handed out valentines, and I handed out homemade fudge to my valentines - the moms! (With strict instructions to NOT share with small bodies.)
Here's the recipe for those who asked for it.
1st layer
Bring to a boil: 1 1/2 cups white sugar, 6 tbsp margarine, 1/3 cup evaporated milk
Boil for 4 minutes. Remove from heat and add 1 cup chocolate chips, 1 cup marshmallow cream or 1 cup mini marshmallows, 1/2 tsp vanilla. Stir and pour into a greased 8x8 pan and let cool.
2nd layer
Bring to a boil: 1 1/2 cups white sugar, 6 tbsp margarine, 1/3 cup evaporated milk
Boil for 4 minutes. Remove from heat and add 1 cup peanut butter, 1 cup marshmallow cream, 1/2 tsp vanilla. Stir and pour on top of 1st layer. Let cool and share with friends so you're not tempted to eat it all yourself. :-)
I still have 1/2 pan left in my fridge. If you come to my house before Saturday I will give you some!
Back to playgroup - I had my camera with me and did take some pictures, but I'm sorry you can't see them. If I knew how to get the pictures out of the camera and onto the blog, this is what you might see - Lucas running over one of the newest playgroup members with his bicycle. Sorry Liam. Welcome to the group Alison! Honest, Lucas has NEVER done anything like that before. It is totally unlike him. Ask Hayden and Madison. (They are the 5yr old playgroup police who frequently come to me and say ... "Miss Debbie, Lucas is ...")
Anyway - Happy Valentines Day ladies and enjoy the fudge!

Did you know?

Did you know that there is a pile of clothes in my closet that has been waiting to be ironed since August? Yes, that's 6 months. I don't do ironing.
Did you know that on Victor's nightstand you can find 48 books, 18 magazines, 3 days of newspapers and miscelaneous papers? And a lot of dust, because I'm not allowed to move his things. No comment.
Did you know that in our kitchen pantry you will find 19 boxes of cereal? I clearly have a problem with sales and double coupons at Vons. Is there a support group for addicted coupon users?
Did you know that I am so technologically challenged that I need to ask for help making a simple copy at Kinko's?
That's all the dirt I can come up with for tonight.

My First One!!

Kristen is here trying to teach me how to do a blog. She needs a medal. Stay tuned for more. Maybe in a month or so.
